Senior Content Developer (Adv#168/2022)
icddr,b is a Bangladesh-based international health research institute that strives to solve key public health problems through high-quality scientific research and innovation. icddrb as a values-based organization encourages women and people with disabilities.
The Advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (AdSEARCH) project of icddr,b aims to improve sexual and reproductive health (SRH) outcomes and realise rights among different population groups with distinct SRH needs in Bangladesh. The project will be focusing on generating new evidence related to family planning, abortion, post-abortion care, STI/RTIs, and reproductive cancers and maternal and neonatal health.
The Senior Content Developer reporting to the Communication Specialist will provide an opportunity for aspiring content writers to get to work in the public health communication and scientific research-based environment at icddr,b.
Key Responsibilities:
Ideate, draft and publish user-friendly summative documents like research briefs, policy briefs, knowledge briefs, press releases, quarterly reports, and communication pieces in both Bangla and English;
Write, review, edit, and proof-check of existing content for multiple audiences including donors, government agencies, media houses, policymakers, and the mass audience;
Conduct in-house research (combining online sources, interviews, and studies) to learn more about current developments and perceptions about the scientific topic, and contextualize findings under AdSEARCH;
Update content for websites, social media platforms, and relevant content pages regularly;
Assist the designer and social media officer with the content placement of need-to-be published materials and maintaining content consistency (language, brand tone, and typography) as per AdSEARCH’s brand guidelines.
Work in collaboration with the Design Team and the Social Media team.
Ensure content’s creative authenticity and the technicalities such as SEO optimization, ensuring high search engine rankings and clicks.
Required qualification and experience:
Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English or related field;
5 years relevant experiences.
Location: Mohakhali campus, Dhaka.
Contract Type and duration:
Fixed Term basis; duration will be 2 Years with a possibility of extension subject to availability of fund and performance.
Salary & benefits:
Annual 8,24,820/- inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances and other admissible benefits
14.8% provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.1,917/- per child per month, festival bonus, contributory healthcare support including dependent spouse and children, group life insurance, and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
